Thank you from the Rob MacGregor Research Fund

More than 400 family and friends attended a trivia night at the Castle Hill RSL, Sydney on 11 February for the third annual fundraiser for the Rob MacGregor Research Fund.

This research fund, honouring the life of Rob MacGregor who had his life cut short by a pancreatic neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) in May 2014 is the initiative of his supportive and loving family – Carolyn (mum), Anthony (dad) and sisters – Alison Mackey and Christine Rutledge. Despite the tragedy of losing a beloved son and brother, they have been committed to fundraising and improving awareness of NEC with the support of the Unicorn Foundation. The Rob MacGregor Research fund is unique because 100% of monies raised will be directed to Australian research and projects related to the most aggressive type grade of neuroendocrine cancers – NEC.

This year, the Unicorn Foundation is targeting to reach $1m to put towards grant requests for Australian based research into NET Cancers, we are very excited about this and the funds raised from the 2017 MacGregor Trivia FUNdraiser will make a significant contribution to this.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the event a huge success.  The amazing sponsors, prize donors, wonderful trivia master Martin Van Eyk and his wife Gina and all the helpers that worked tirelessly throughout the night to make the event a huge success that it was.

The Unicorn Foundation is very proud to be working with Rob MacGregor Research Fund and is overwhelmed by the community support for this and the amazing work performed by Carolyn, Tony, Alison, Christine and their families who this year raised an incredible $49,950. Well done and thank you.
